In the 9th Century, water and bridges gave this small town in Navarre its name. The prehistoric caves are of unquestionable value and beauty.

The birthplace of Pedro Daguerre "Axular" has also been conserved, one of the first authors in Euskera (Basque language) and a forerunner of Euskera (Unified Basque).
