In Urdazubi we can visit the home of Pedro Aguerre "Axular", a classic writer of Basque literature, who lived during the first half of the 17th Century.

He is commonly known as Pedro de Axular. He was born in 1556 in Urdax, in the house named Axular, from where he took his writer's name. He is considered to be the best prosaist in Euskera (the Basque language). He became a priest.

           Among his work we can highlight Gero; asceticism to successfully reach the beyond through Christianity. This work is considered by many to be the best written literary text in Euskera. He died in 1644 in the town of Sara.
